William Womack

William Mark Womack, 79, died Sunday, August 13, 2017. He is preceded in death, by the love of his life, his wife, Irene Fisher Womack. Irene and Bill were high school sweethearts and the bond that they shared was an inspiration for many during their 53 years of marriage. \r\n He is survived by his beloved family of four daughters, four son-in-laws and ten grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. The oldest daughter, Laurie Womack Blewett and son-in-law, Jason Blewett of Hunt, Texas. Daughter Suzanne Womack Nicks and son-in-law Mikel Lee Nicks of Cypress, Texas. Daughter Victoria Womack Styles and son-in-law, Danny Lynn Styles of Boerne, Texas. And his youngest daughter, Amy Womack Richards and son-in-law Russell Vincent Richards of Kerrville, Texas. He also leaves grandchildren, Kaylee Blewett and her husband Alex Adame. Julianna Lee Nicks, Mikel "Blake" Nicks, Taylor Brooke Styles, Meredith Paige Nicks, Manie Jo Blewett, Devin Lane Styles, Addie K. Blewett, William Otis Richards, and Walker Rosalie Richards. Granddad "Bull" was an amazing mentor to al his grandchildren expelling the love of his ranch, Bent Tree, and the Texas Hill Country. \r\n Bill had many hobbies. He was an avid reader, history buff, hunter, and all things football related. He was a serious gun collector, and enjoyed Western and Native American art and artifacts. He was a proud member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Tejas Vaquero Trail Riders Land Owner and recently an Elks Lodge Member. \r\n Bill was also a remarkable salesman and professional executive. He started his career as a salesman with National Cash Register in 1960 after graduating from Southwest Texas State and serving in the Air National Guard. He quickly rose to management status and was sought after by many companies. First Security Financial Systems finally persuaded him and he rose in the ranks to become Vice President of Marketing and Sales with FiServ Financial Services. His biggest joy in his professional life, was closing sales and mentoring others to do the same. He was honored with multiple President's Club Titles and held officer positions in the National Association of Banking. He earned several distinguished awards and memorable trips throughout his career. He also earned an honorary degree from The University of Colorado. Bill's love of his professional accomplishments went well beyond just a career. The friendships he developed there became an important part of his life and this group became known as, "The Society". Enjoying time with them was one of the highlights of his retirement years. Along with his professional accomplishments, Bill was also a philanthropist and served in many service roles, including vestry positions in different Episcopal Churches in Texas. He also held position on the School Board of All Saints Episcopal School in Beaumont, Texas. When he returned to Kerrville, he sat on the Peterson Regional Medical Center Foundation Board and was also a founding member of Tivy High School's Athletic Hall of Fame, a position he really enjoyed. Bill's love of Tivy High School and the memories it served him was something he spoke of all his life. Bill had many attributes that people will remember fondly. He loved gathering with family and friends to play poker, pitch washers and shooting targets. He loved being with people and he loved his wife and family. The sparkle in his piercing blue eyes will be missed. One of his favorite songs said it best…\r\n Ridin' the range once more,\r\n Totin' my old 44\r\n \r\n Funeral services for William will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville with Rev. Patrick J. Miller and Rev. Richard Elwood officiating. Private burial will be in Glen Rest Cemetery prior to the service.\r\n There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville,\r\n
