William Edward Wheat, age 85 of Kerrville, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Kerrville. He was born April 28, 1930 in Sioux City, IA to Edward Joseph Wheat and Janet Marion (Graham) Wheat. \r\n \r\nBill worked for Mooney Aircraft in Kerrville from 1957 to 2008. He did everything from being a test pilot for Al Mooney, to repairing the planes, to being a night watchman, to redesigning the radio equipment installations. He was a manager in both the Systems and Services and the Certification and Airworthiness departments, and finally a customer support technician before retiring.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by daughter, Linda Anne McDaniel of Bandera; son, Thomas Edward Wheat of San Antonio; and sister, Barbara Janet McMahon of Bandera. \r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 2008.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held Monday, April 25, 2016, 11 AM at Vanderpool Cemetery, Vanderpool, TX officiated by Chuck Crane.\r\n
