William "Paul" Trenck completed his work here on earth on Valentine's Day February 14, 2016. The Lord called him to his Heavenly Home after 100 1/2 years. Paul passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. He leaves them all with hearts full of love and many wonderful memories. \r\n \r\nPaul Trenck was born on July 24, 1915 to Lydia Wilms Trenck and Max Frederick Trenck of Beaumont, Texas. He is preceded in death by both parents; his wife Katherine Wray Trenck of 67 years; the daughter he adored, Paula Trenck Brown; brother Max Vernon Trenck and sister Maxine Trenck Wendler. \r\n \r\nPaul was a machinist by trade and retired from Texas Instruments (Houston Division) in 1978. Upon retiring, he and Katherine purchased their first RV and began traveling. Their travels took them to many of the National Parks, various states and landmarks, and one very special place....the Texas Hill Country! So, after residing in Houston for the duration of their careers, they decided Kerrville, Texas was where they wanted to spend the rest of their lives. In 1984 they moved to Kerrville, and Paul immediately immersed himself into the community. He joined the Lions Club and participated in many community projects. \r\n \r\nPaul Trenck was never one to sit idle. He loved to design new and more efficient ways to do things. One example is the hay bale "hoist system" he designed for his barn. The sole purpose of the hoist system was to move hay bales around without having to handle them! Paul's hoist system saved backs, as well as time and energy. \r\n \r\nPaul loved the outdoors and caring for his home and property. After losing his first wife Katherine in 2006, he met and married Mary Ann Trenck of Mountain Home, Texas. It is here that Paul spent the last decade of his life, caring for their home and property, as well as a menagerie of animals. \r\n \r\nYou might have also seen Paul driving about in his favorite convertible sports car, with his beloved dog JJ in the passenger seat! Paul also enjoyed watching professional sports (especially the Spurs), and a cold beer with his step son Eric! \r\n \r\nPaul is survived by his wife of 10 years, Mary Ann Trenck; stepson, Eric Rogal of San Antonio Texas; nephew, Max Trenck and wife Bessandra of Austin; niece, Anne Schwinger and husband Gene of Houston; niece, Julie Strong and husband Stuart of Austin; niece Laurie Trenck Dopson of Savannah, Texas; great nieces and nephews, Paul Kostial, Peggy Kostial, Aaron Strong, Anna Strong, Megan Trenck Landsberg and husband, Nils, and Ryan Trenck. \r\n \r\nA viewing and visitation is scheduled for Friday evening, February 19th, from 4-6 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas on Saturday, February 20th at 1 pm. The Rev. Alex Large with St. Martins Episcopal Church of Houston, Texas will be officiating.
