William Dayton "Stubby" Stockton Jr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2016, after a very brief illness. He was born in Kerrville on March 5, 1941. \r\n \r\nAfter graduating high school in Hobbs, NM in 1959 he joined the Army and served in Germany as an Armor Intelligence Specialist. When released from the Army in 1961 he followed his passion as a racehorse trainer. After moving to Kerr County in 1992 he worked and retired from Kerrville State Hospital where he was a Security Supervisor. \r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife of almost 27 years, Lindsay Pace Stockton; children, William Stockton III and wife Maria of Austin, Michelle Carswell and husband Kevin of San Marcos, Janene Adams and husband David of Houston and Chance Richie of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. \r\n \r\nA Celebration of Life memorial will be planned at a later date.\r\n
