William "David" McCutchen, 82, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018, from his home in Kerrville. He was born in Robert Lee, Texas to J. D. and Belva McCutchen on May 6, 1935. He married Gracie Allen Cook on July 23, 1953, in San Angelo, Texas.\r\n \r\nDavid worked for M System Grocery Store chain for 22 years and moved to Kerrville in 1968 to manage the local store. In 1972 David began his 30 years as manager of Gibson's Discount Center where he was fondly known as Mr. MaC.\r\n \r\nDavid was an active member of First Baptist Church from 1968 to 2018 where he served as a deacon as well as in various other capacities.\r\n \r\nDavid was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and his son-in-law, Jim Horgan. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gracie McCutchen, and 2 daughters, Allenda Wolfmueller and husband Chuck of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Cathy Horgan of Kerrville. He also had 6 grandchildren, Bryan and Keri Wolfmueller of Denver, Colorado, Philip and Layne Wolfmueller of Midland, Chris and Rachel Horgan of Morgan City, Louisiana, Thomas and Michelle Wolfmueller of Midland, Kelly Horgan of Houston, and Andy Horgan of Pullman, Washington. He also had 10 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Daniel, Isaac, Charlotte, William, Henry, Elouise, Aven, and Liam of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by a sister, Glynece Upton, of Midland. \r\n \r\nA memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Kerrville, with James Ervin officiating. \r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Peterson Hospice or the Hill Country Youth Ranch. The family wishes to thank Peterson Hospice for their outstanding compassionate care they gave David during his last few months.
