William "Wayne" Hunter passed from this life into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Harper, TX. He was born December 4, 1942 in Ballinger, TX, the oldest of 5 children to William "Bill" Henshaw Hunter and Edna Mae Jones. \r\n\r\nHe entered the Navy in 1960 and served 6 years in the SeaBee's. He served during the Cuba Missile Crisis. He really enjoyed his time in the Navy and he followed their "CAN DO" motto all of his life by always finding a way to fix things. He started working for Sempra Energy in 1967 and retired from them after 32 years. He got his private pilot license in 1982 and thoroughly enjoyed the time he had his airplane. He was President of Little League while his sons were playing and also coached an adult women's team. He loved to help people, working out in his shop, volunteering at the VA and he always had that Texas charm that won his wife's heart over 47 years ago.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Johnny and David.\r\n\r\nHe leaves behind his loving wife, Georgann Hunter and sons, Jeffery Wayne Hunter and wife, Irma of Kerrville and Douglas Xian Hunter and wife, Kelly of Santa Barbara, CA. They will miss him greatly.\r\n\r\nServices will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014, 2 PM at Calvary Temple Church officiated Pastor Del Way. Interment will follow at the Harper Cemetery.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VAVS-Volunteer Service, 3600 Memorial Blvd., Kerrville, TX 78028 for the Recreation Department.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
