William C. Hise, 92, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 20, 2018.\r\n\r\nBill was born February 23, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He graduated from Swissvale High School. Bill served in the US Army and was a WWII veteran, of which he was very proud. His assignment to the 87th Infantry placed him at the Battle of the Bulge, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Bill loved his country and the honor of serving it.\r\n\r\nBill is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Norma; sister-in-law Doris Swartz and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.\r\n\r\nBill was an Instrument Engineer for Brown & Root in Houston and retired after 30 years of service on various chemical & petroleum plant construction projects.\r\n\r\nFollowing retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively. Bill was a member of Walter M. Pierson Masonic Lodge for over 60 years, and a member of the York Rite bodies of Texas.\r\n\r\nBill was an active supporter of the 87th Infantry Division Legacy Association and attended many of their various reunions around the United States.\r\n\r\nThe family expresses gratitude to special friends and neighbors John and Barbara Haifley, and to VA Home Based Primary Care Services, especially Phil Spears and Carol Vasquez, for their kind care and support.\r\n\r\nServices will be performed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at a later date. Memorials can be made to the World War II Museum in New Orleans and the Kerrville Texas Humane Society.\r\n\r\n
