William Edward "Bill" Dietert, Jr., age 87 of The Divide, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 21, 1928 to William Edward "Bill" Dietert, Sr. and Hetta Sylvia Seebe Dietert. He married Marguerite Celeste "Margie" Jones on June 19, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas.\r\n \r\nBill went to school at the Dietert Schoolhouse on The Divide, then to Tivy High School in Kerrville. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1950. He was a proud member of the Aggie Corps of Cadets. Bill grew up on the ranch and was the 3rd generation to operate Dietert and Dietert Ranches. The only time in his life that he wasn't a rancher he spent as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served in Virginia and Labrador. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was very involved in the Divide Chapel where he served as a deacon and then an elder. He served on the Executive Committee and was a past Director of the Mohair Council of America. He was a past Director of the Texas Sheep & Goat Raiser Association. Bill was also a past Chairman and served on the Board of Directors for the Upper Nueces Frio Soil & Water Conservation District. He helped organize the Divide Volunteer Fire Department in 1983. Bill loved God, his family, his community and Aggie football!!\r\n \r\nBill is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Hetta Dietert and his brother Robert Darrell Dietert.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margie, his son Stephen William Dietert and wife Carolyn and daughter Marianne Dietert Hanley and husband Steve. He is also survived by his grandchildren that he adored, Stephen Brady Dietert, Mendy Diane Dietert, Lindsey Christine Price and Laura Justine Price.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Saturday, June 4th at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Visitation will be at 9:00 AM, funeral at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Dietert Ranch.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Divide Fire Department or Dietert Center - Take 5 Club Assistance Fund or Meals on Wheels Program.\r\n
