God saw you were getting tired\r\nAnd a cure was not to be.\r\nSo He put His arms around you\r\nAnd whispered, "Come to Me."\r\nWith tearful eyes we watched you\r\nAnd saw you pass away\r\nAnd though we loved you dearly,\r\nWe could not make you stay.\r\nA golden heart stopped beating,\r\nHard working hands at rest.\r\nGod broke our hearts to prove to us,\r\nHe only takes the best. \r\n \r\n \r\nWilliam Talley Bass, 76, passed away February 9, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to Willie and Dena Mae Bass on October 1, 1939. He married Martha Jane Smith on June 5, 1959 in Nacogdoches, Texas.\r\n \r\nHe went to school in Nacogdoches, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1961. He worked in various capacities in the Fertilizer Industry for the past 55 years. He was a veteran of the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation from Texas A&M. He was on the Board of Advo Companies, Inc., SW Fertilizer, Board of Trustees at First United Methodist Church Kerrville, Finance Committee at First Presbyterian Church Kerrville.\r\n \r\nHe is preceded in death by daughter Stacy Leigh Bass and parents Dena Mae and Willie Bass.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by wife, Martha Bass; son, Trent Bass and wife, Veronica; grandchildren, Cody Bass and Jessica Bass; brothers, Jim Bass and wife, Kay and Bob Bass and wife, Linda; and sister, DeeAnn Foley and husband, Jim.\r\n \r\nMemorial Service will be Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 800 Jefferson Street, Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nHonorary pallbearers: Bill had too many wonderful friends to list them all.
