At the age of 86, William Ray Badgley passed from this life on April 8, 2016 due to complications from a brief illness. He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 15, 1929. After graduation he served our country in the Korean War. He then settled in Ingram, Texas where he worked for the Texas Highway Department until his retirement. He had no siblings or children, but he was always kind, caring, and generous to those who needed help! He was a loving son, caring for his elderly mother for years until her passing. Then it happened…the greatest blessing of his life!!! While spending time at Sid Peterson Hospital visiting his mother, this ole confirmed bachelor met Susie. She "just happened" to be sitting with a patient on the same hall. From that point on, Bill the bachelor, and Sue the bachelorette, were never apart!!! They were truly a match made in Heaven!!! Married for over 40 years, they were dedicated Christians and members of the Kerrville Church of Christ. They worked tirelessly putting on the Sunday potluck dinners in the fellowship hall each week! They were a true testament to the blessing of marriage! For the last few years of Susie's life, Bill was unable to care for her at home. After he moved her to Hilltop Village, he was there every day from morning until night caring for her and just loving her. After her passing, he moved in with his nephew, John Gathings, and enjoyed living with family. He volunteered to work in construction with John, even lifting a 2 X 4 or two!!! He loved tinkering and feeling a part of the family! He will be missed by his niece, Marge Leisering, his great nephew, John Gathings, and his great niece, Gayle LeMeilleur and husband Jim, his great great nephews, Jonathan Gathings and Scott LeMeilleur, and his great great nieces Lisa Hierholzer and Trisha Moore. Oh and John's dog Lulu…from the time he moved in, he became her best friend! He always had a way with animals! May the Lord Bless You and Keep You Uncle Bill!!!\r\nPrivate family services will be held at a later date.\r\n
