Wayne Jentsch

November 24, 1927 — March 5, 2018

Wayne H. Jentsch passed away March 5, 2018 at the age of 90 great years. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann (Jody) of 64 years, two sons - Bryan and wife Bethaneye, Mark and wife Cynthia, two grandsons - Matthew and wife Melissa plus two great granddaughters, Alexander and wife Claire. He is preceded in death by father Bruno, mother Pearl, older brother Donald, and younger sister Mable (Meeks). \r\n\r\nWayne was born in Wichita, Kansas thereafter the family moved to Pharr, Texas in 1933. Upon graduating high school, he attended Texas A & M, completing his freshman year, and enlisting in the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he attended the University of Texas, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.\r\n\r\nWayne had engineering assignments in Spain, Libya, Liberia, and Nigeria from 1956 to 1972 during which both sons were born. Subsequently assignments required him to visit many countries around the world, frequently accompanied by Jody. Wayne and Jody developed a great love to travel and live abroad, visiting over 90 countries. Wayne said "I have been blessed with a very full life and with the family always together". Wayne's career included meeting several heads of state and was a registered Professional Engineer in Texas, England and two West African countries. \r\n\r\nWayne enjoyed gardening, carpentry, sailing, fishing, and was a competitive tennis player. He conveyed to his boys a respect for wildlife and the environment. He took great satisfaction in engineering a solution to any problem and would say "do not complain unless you have a solution". Always - the engineer's engineer.\r\n\r\nWayne requested he be cremated so that if others desire he will be able to continue his travels.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, Wayne wishes any donations be made to The Dietert Center, Meals on Wheels, 451 Guadalupe St., Suite 101, Kerrville, TX., 78028.\r\n\r\n
