Wanda PequeO

July 4, 1953 — April 8, 2017

Wanda N. Pequeño, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Kerrville doing what she loved more than anything else, selflessly serving her family. Wanda has now been called to be with the Lord. \r\n\r\nMany knew Wanda, the loving wife, the kind mother, and the nurturing grandmother. Only those closest to her knew Wanda the Warrior. Wanda fought through illness, pain, and defeated cancer all while caring for those closest to her. Most important to Wanda were her grandchildren, her "babies" as she called them, and she wants them to know that while her physical self is gone, she will always be watching and protecting them as one of God's warriors. \r\n\r\nWanda was born on July 4, 1953, in Harlingen, TX, to Stanley and Alicia Peña Lyles. On March 1, 1975, she married Daniel Pequeño in Harlingen at her childhood home. \r\n\r\nWanda is survived by her husband, Daniel Pequeño of Kerrville; daughters, Kristina M. Pequeño and husband Robert Apolinario of Cedar Park, and Alicia Pequeño and husband Damian Montes of Midland; sisters, Mary Kilbourn and husband Walter of Corpus Christie, and Rose Wright and husband Richard of Houston; brother, Stanley Lyles and wife Marilyn of Yoakum; grandchildren, Ava Pequeño, Jace D. Pequeño, and Royal Apolinario. \r\n\r\nVisitation will be from 5-7 PM with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Children's Miracle Network Hospitals" at Medical Center Health System Foundation, P O Box 4397, Odessa, TX 79760-4397
