Walter Bookamer

Walter George Bookamer, age 78 of Kerrville, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 8, 1938 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania to William and Mary Margaret (Whitmer) Bookamer. \r\n \r\nWalter served in the United States Army and was a retired detective. He retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department after 34 years, and then moved to the Texas Hill Country. Walter loved to go RV'ing.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include wife, Barbara Bookamer of Kerrville; daughters, Vicki Lefler and husband, Ernie of Florida and Christine Welling and husband, Brian of Houston; sons, Michael Johnson and wife, Nicole of Bryceland, Louisiana and Jeffrey Ladd and wife, Amy of St. George, Utah; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.\r\n \r\nHis daughter, Tammi Brooks, preceded him in death.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held at a later date in Bear Creek, Louisiana.\r\n
