Von Landon Evans went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 30, 2020 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n\r\nHe was born February 7th, 1937 in Sherman, Texas. He attended Baytown Lee High School and played football at Tyler Junior College and The University of Georgia. He graduated from Sam Houston State University.\r\n\r\nVon served in the US Army, attaining the rank of E-5. He served overseas in France, posted at a NATO fuel facility.\r\n\r\nHe and his wife, Vonie, lived most of their adult lives in Orangefield, Texas, where they raised their children, Von Jr. (Lany), Lanette (Tuki), and Jill.\r\n\r\nHe retired from Bayer in the mid 90's. He and Vonie spent their retirement years in Kerrville, Texas, when they weren't traveling the world. Von was an avid bow hunter, taking a Pope and Young record book black bear at 73 years old. He helped advance the cause of bow hunting in Texas, speaking across the state at TP&W meetings.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his loving wife Vonie; children, Von L. Evans Jr. MD and wife Jan, Lanette Evans Duncan and husband Tim, Jill Evans Pearson and husband Randy; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.\r\n
