Virginia Hart

May 21, 1925 — July 10, 2016

Virginia F. Hart passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at a local care center. She fought the ravages of dementia for several years. After a recent broken hip and the dementia they finally took a toll on her life. She struggled to keep her independence, but it wasn't to be.\r\n \r\nShe, my dad, and her mother moved from Indianapolis, IN to Kerrville, TX in 1997 beating our (Jacqueline & Martin) arrival by two months. It was always a family joke because they were supposed to be here after us.\r\n \r\nShe worked for Bell Telephone, Standard Oil, Pitman Moore and Dow Chemical until her retirement in 1988. She was able to move up in each job eventually holding a managerial position until her retirement. \r\n \r\nShe is survived by daughter, Jacqueline Magenheimer and husband Martin of Kerrville. Three grandchildren survive, Beth Magenheimer of Peoria, IL, Erica Shoop and spouse Eric of Indianapolis, IN, and Dale Magenheimer and wife Diane of San Antonio, TX. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Evan McDaniel, twins Austin and Trevor McDaniel of Peoria, IL and Avery McDaniel and wife Rachel of Wisconsin City, WI. Also, Jacob, Colin and Aiden Shoop of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Nelson Hart and wife Joanne.\r\n \r\nVirginia was predeceased by her husband Russell in 2011; a grandson, Neil Magenheimer in 1987; her mother, Florence Murphy in 2006; her father, Louis Featherstone; and many others.\r\n \r\nWe want to thank her caregivers, Shelly, Belinda and Ann. They took wonderful, loving care of her. You exceeded expectations and went above and beyond. Thanks also needs to be given to Caring Senior Service especially Monica, Brandy and Carolyn. You did an excellent job of making a difficult situation move into a calmer situation.\r\n \r\nPeterson Hospice undertook a difficult situation, as well, and did a tremendous job putting a stressful time into a calm. It seems like nearly all the staff had some involvement with my mother's situation. Too many to name, but 'thank you' from the heart.\r\n \r\nPrivate services will be held at Glen Rest Cemetery. \r\n
