Mr. Vincent De La Cruz, 93 of Kerrville was born on October 13, 1926 and went to be with our Lord on November 7, 2019. \r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta Jimenez and Vicente De La Cruz of Pearsall, TX; wife, Reymunda De La Cruz; his four siblings, Juan and Pilar De La Cruz, Rosalia Martinez and Alicia Cavazos.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his three children: daughter, Rosario (Rosie) Arredondo, daughter, Lisa Salinas, and daughter, Marina Hoy and her husband Jeff Hoy; five grandchildren, Tammy Gutierrez, Danny Salinas, J.J. Salinas, Vance and Veronika Hoy; three great-granddaughters, April Salinas, Jasmine Conner, and Victoria Mermella; five great-great-grandchildren, Jayden and Aiden Salinas, Landon Lane and Lorraine Conner. \r\n\r\nHe married the love his life, Reymunda, on September 7, 1947. He moved to Kerrville in 1955 and was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. He worked for Mooney Aircraft for 30+ years, Coors Distributing and Schreiner College. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Kerrville Tivy football fan where he never missed a home game for 40+ years. Baseball was his favorite sport even though he never played. He was involved with a semi-pro baseball team, the Kerrville Indians for many years, and later with the baseball team of Schreiner College where he developed a special bond with the players.\r\n\r\nVincent was a man of faith and his love for God was strong. He was a loving, caring husband and father. A hard working man who was dedicated to his family and lived for his three daughters. May he rest in peace in God's loving arms and know he was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him.\r\n\r\nRosary will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Deacon Jimmy Bill.\r\n\r\nMass will be held at 10 AM, Friday, November 15, 2019 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Tony Vilano as celebrant.\r\n\r\nHonorary pallbearers will be Freddie Russ, Joey Cardenas, Ju Ju Scott, David White, Steven Beck and Mike O'Malley.
