Vernon Travis Moore, 82, of Kerrville passed away on March 9, 2018 at the VA Hospice Center in San Antonio. \r\n\r\nHe was born in Booneville, Arkansas to Vernon Moore, Sr. and Birdie Chilson on November 1, 1935. He married Carolyn Brown on March 29, 1972 in Kerrville. \r\n\r\nHe attended Ingram schools, served in the Army and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Jerry Reichenau Construction Company. Vernon loved his job and took great pride in his work. Jerry Reichenau was not only a boss but a very special friend for 25 years.\r\n\r\nVernon was preceded in death by his mother, Birdie Moore; his sister, Alene Hyde; brother, Dave Moore and his grandson, Colton Travis Moore.\r\n\r\nVernon is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brown Moore; daughter, Virginia Weakley; sons, Darrell Moore, Everett Moore and Rocky (Collette) Hill; sisters Joan Butler of Axtell and Juanita Hurst of Kerrville, as well as numerous Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nThere will be a book available for signing at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.\r\n\r\n
