Tommy Jon (TJ) Lackey, 43, went to be with the Lord on May 7th, 2019 He was born in Kerrville, Texas to Tommy H. Lackey and Jo Anne Hodges Evans on March 25th, 1976.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by beloved wife, Norma A. Lackey; step-daughter, Leah Neal; mother, Jo Anne Hodges Evans; step-father, Jim Evans; father, Tommy H. Lackey; grandmother, Betty Lackey; brother, Cody Lackey and wife Jamie; step-brother, Jason Evans and wife Haleh; nephews and niece, Hunter, Jarrett and Olivia Lackey and Samuel Deemers; aunts and uncles, Terry Lockaby, Glenda Lackey, Ronny Lackey and Larrel Lackey; as well as numerous cousins, family and friends.\r\n\r\nTJ was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Frank and Doris Hodges; paternal grandfather, T.H. Butch Lackey; and aunt, Katie Fiedler.\r\n\r\nTJ attended Center Point, Bandera and Hondo schools. He graduated from Hondo in 1994. TJ also attended college at UTSA where he completed 100 plus hours.\r\n\r\nTJ last worked with his dad, uncle and aunt at their local, family-owned and -operated hay and animal feed store, T H Lackey Hay & Feed in Center Point, TX. \r\n\r\nTJ was a veteran and served in the Navy and Army for a total of 10 years. He was a Navy Corpsman and Army Medic. TJ was awarded numerous service medals and awards.\r\n\r\nTJ excelled in academics as well in sports. He enjoyed hunting trips to New Mexico, ski trips to New Mexico, Colorado and Montana, and of course fishing anywhere and anytime he could, all done with family and friends. TJ also started up a snow ski company named Batalla Skis with the help of his best friend, Kyle Fox.\r\n\r\nTJ is loved and adored by his wife, Norma and step-daughter, Leah. \r\n\r\nTJ has a one of a kind personality. He is very giving with a strong heart. He laughed abundantly and made many memories with everyone he knew. TJ lives in our hearts, minds and souls until the time comes when we can be with him again. \r\n\r\nMemorial services will be held 2pm on Saturday May 18th 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Chaplain Ronald P. Leininger, EdD, M.Div., BCC of Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital and Reverend Robert Lockaby officiating. \r\n\r\nThe Family of TJ Lackey wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all who were involved in TJ's care at Audie L.
