Thomas Mitcham

Thomas C. Mitcham was 25-years-old when he left us unexpectedly on June 18, 2015. Thomas was born in Carrollton, Texas on December 13, 1989 to his parents Thomas and Ann Mitcham. He graduated from Hebron High School in 2008 before moving to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Thomas was a sales representative for a roofing company in Dallas from 2010-2012, and was the director of sales for a roofing company in Kerrville at the time of his passing.\r\n\r\nThomas is survived by his father Thomas, his mother Ann, and his older sister Jamie of Dallas; in addition to his grandmothers Fern Ovenden of Austin, Dona Danforth of Curtis, Michigan, and Gayle Mitcham of Farmers Branch, Texas; his aunts and uncles Dan and Susan Peters of Austin; Ed and Janet Bercot of Boerne, Texas; David and Joanna Mitcham of Farmers Branch, Texas; Mike Mitcham of Evans, Louisiana; Amy McKinley of Farmers Branch, Texas; his dog Scout and many special friends along the way.\r\n\r\nThomas was very charismatic, creative, and full of life. He lived in the moment and enjoyed many things during his time with us. A few: bird hunting and fishing with his dad, playing football, soccer and baseball while growing up, wakeboarding and snowboarding, drawing, painting, woodworking, and kayaking on the Guadalupe River.\r\n\r\nThomas touched many lives in his short time on this earth. You could not miss his infectious smile and personality. He loved without selflessness his family, his childhood friends, and his friends in the Kerrville community. He was a son, a brother, and a friend to all. He was able to bring joy and light to all who knew him. If you met Thomas only for a day, you are lucky enough to have memories for a lifetime.\r\n\r\nA Celebration of Thomas' Life will be held Friday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville, Texas. A reception at the church will follow.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Thomas' memory to help provide scholarships and grants to those seeking the path to recovery.
