Thomas Kindla, known lovingly as Tommy all of his life, a talented plumber and life-long resident of Bandera, Texas, died unexpectedly on August 14, 2020 at the age of 83 while at home having his morning coffee.\r\n\r\nTommy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Stein Kindla; brother, Alfred Kindla of Bandera and sister, Lois Smith of Florida. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Lucky Lee Moore Sr. and two very special people in his life, his grandson, Lucky Lee Moore Jr. (Sport) and great-grandson, Jacob Lee Moore. Many nieces and nephews also mourn their Uncle Tommy.\r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Frances Mazurek Kindla; his son, Thomas P. Kindla Jr. (Butch); his daughter, Melody Jo Moore; his sister, Rose Mary Kindla Clark Muennink; and brother John J Kindla.\r\n\r\nTommy was born in Bandera, Texas on March 30,1937 and after graduating from Bandera High School in 1955, he served two years in the United States Navy and was stationed in Japan.\r\n\r\nHe was elected and served on the Bandera City Council from 1972-1985 and again in 1996-2005.\r\n\r\nTommy had his own business, Kindla Plumbing, in Bandera for approximately 15 years and also worked out of Local #142 in San Antonio for about 28 years.\r\n\r\nOn July 20 1963, he married Betty Stein and they celebrated 57 years of marriage.\r\n\r\nTommy was a devoted father and do-it-yourself expert, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman, especially in his favorite vacation spot Rockport, TX. He was a spiritual man, member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera, and lived out his deep faith as a son, brother, father and family man, a caretaker for many, and a friend to all in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.\r\n\r\nThere will be no memorial service, but condolences may be offered to The Kindla Family, P.O.
