Thomas Hutcherson

December 19, 1955 — November 18, 2014

In the afternoon of Tuesday, November 18th, 2014, Tommy passed away peacefully in his sleep at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas Texas after losing his battle with cancer. He was 58 years old. \r\n \r\nTommy Hutcherson was born in Dallas, Texas on December 19th, 1955, the second of two children and only son of RW and Florence Hutcherson. \r\n \r\nHe loved everything about being a Texan. At the young age of 22, he started his own oil and gas business venture and in a few short years built it into a very successful company. He now had the money to fulfill his personal dreams which included buying and furnishing a custom home, a Ferrari and traveling the world. \r\n \r\nSadly, in the midst of this success, he was involved in a very serious automobile accident, experiencing head trauma so severe he was in a coma for over 3 months. When he finally came to he was in and out of consciousness for several more months. While most would give up, Tommy pushed forward. Over the next 2 years of grueling rehabilitation, with great courage, stamina and determination he learned to walk and talk again. \r\n \r\nTommy decided to further the successes in his life by going back to school. He received his degree in Business Management from Dallas Baptist University and a Graduate Certificate in Engineering from Texas Tech University. His goal was to complete his MBA. \r\n \r\nHe loved to wind surf, kayak and snow ski. He was an accomplished photographer, earning awards for his work at the State Fair of Texas. He also enjoyed and had a keen eye for interior decoration. \r\n \r\nHe was quick with a smile, a good storyteller and had excellent taste for the finer things in life. \r\n \r\nTommy is survived by his parents, RW and Florence Hutcherson, sister Carol and husband Robert, all of Kerrville, Texas. \r\n \r\nThere will be a private memorial service on December 2, 2014 with interment at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, Texas. The family requests in lieu of flowers to please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society. \r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
