Thomas L Hubble, Sr. passed away at 90 years of age on November 6, 2019 in Bandera, Texas. Tommy was born to H.Y. and Elizabeth (nee: Dugosh) Hubble on March 24, 1929 in Canadian, Texas.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marion Ward Spangler Hubble on June 15, 2003 and his daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Hubble in 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 11 of his sisters, Rena, Bula, Eula, Clara, Angie, Leca Mae, Charlotte, Cleo, Mickie, Ebbie and Geneive and brothers, Leo and Buddy. His sister Victoria lives in Rocksprings, Texas.\r\n\r\nHis family moved to Bandera in 1935, where he attended school, excelling in football, basketball and track. He was also very active in rodeoing, especially bull riding and bare back riding. He also loved Western Music and sang with the Texas Top Hands on several occasions.\r\n\r\nHe later attended SWTJC in Uvalde, Texas where he met his future wife, Marion Spangler. They were married in Bandera on February 16, 1949. Tommy eventually went to work for Central Power and Light Company as an Electric Maintenance Helper in Uvalde. He transferred to Laredo, Texas in 1952 and worked his way up, eventually becoming a Line Foreman. He was promoted in 1980 to Transmission Superintendent and moved back to Uvalde the same year. He worked for CP&L for over 40 years, eventually retiring in 1988 and moving to Montell, Texas, He and his wife and daughter Sharon were active members of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Montell for many years. Tommy and Marion moved back to Bandera in 1998.\r\n\r\nTommy and Marlon had 5 children. He is survived by 4 of his children, Ann Wade of Houston, Tom Jr. and wife Kathy of Kingsland, Gary Hubble of Carrizo Springs and Denise McClendon and husband Mark of Boerne. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Paul Stewart and wife Missy of Montell, David Wade of College Station, Jamie Locander and husband Jamie of Houston, Kirk Hubble of Corpus Christi, Kamara Wittner and husband Brandon of Corpus Christi, Jeremy Hubble and wife Kandy of Orange Grove, Travis Hubble of Midland, Karlee Hubble of Marble Falls, Meredith Malcolmson and husband Stephen of San Antonio, Jon Bell and wife Sarah of Spokane, Washington, Brittany Bell of San Antonio and Kara McClendon of San Antonio. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Ty, Hayes, Whitney, Gwen, Kamdyn, Pyrce, Jaden, Dylan, Abigail, Jon Luke, and Aliyah and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Ryan and Abram.\r\n\r\nTommy loved gardening, fishing, hunting, playing softball and bringing "critters" home with him in his lunchbox. The family had baby bobcats, rabbits, lizards, roadrunners, owls, raccoons, as well as dogs and cats. Tommy's favorite cat was named Matt Dillon. He also coached Senior League Baseball in Laredo and Little League Baseball in Uvalde for many years and his teams were very successful. He was very active with Laredo's United High School's Booster Club and served as their first president. He and his wife were both avid deer hunters and maintained a lease in Zapata County for many years,\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera, Texas on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. and the Celebration of Tommy's Life will be at Mansfield Park after the memorial service. There will be a private family burial later in Montell, Texas.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to your favorite charity.\r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, Texas.\r\n
