Theodore "Ted" George Ondov, 77, of Ingram, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Somerville, New Jersey, to Julia Tkacik and Theodore John Ondov on September 30, 1940. He married Virginia Galloway on September 18, 1982 at the American Legion in Kerrville.\r\n\r\nHe attended Somerville High School and enlisted in the Army shortly after graduating. Although he was afraid of heights, he became a paratrooper. He joined the Special Forces and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and was a lifetime member of the American Legion (Past Commander) and the VFW. He held several offices in the various organizations. He received the following medals: Vietnam Service, National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign, Good Conduct, and Korean Service. He worked in the Heating and Cooling industry for 40+ years, ending his career owning his own company. This allowed him the freedom to attend many field trips with his daughter.\r\n\r\nTed is preceded in death by his father, mother, 6 aunts, and 1 uncle.\r\n\r\nTed is survived by his wife Virginia, his son Clarence Yarbrough, daughter Amanda Yarbrough Oster, and his favorite granddaughter and grandson. He is also survived by his sister Judy (Lance) Nordell, brothers John (Margaret) and Donald (Rhoda), 3 nieces, 5 nephews, many well-loved cousins, and a host of dear friends.\r\n\r\nMemorial services will be held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1480 (220 Thompson Dr., Kerrville, TX 78028) at 11 am on Saturday, January 20, 2018.\r\n
