Susan Mccracken

Susan Louise McCracken, age 61, went to be with the Lord on Febraury 18, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. She passed away, surrounded by family, at her home in Pipe Creek, TX. \r\n\r\nSusan is from George West, TX, where she met and married her husband, Ricky McCracken. She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. She used her degree towards a career as an adult probation officer. She retired in 2009 as a supervisor with Bexar County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. In her years following retirement she continued her love and knowledge of quilting. She was very proud and dedicated to her work, and it showed through the many awards she won. Susan was and active member of the Church of Christ in Bandera, TX.\r\n\r\nSusan is preceded in death by her father James Paul McCarley.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her husband of 39 years Ricky McCracken; daughters, Cresta Marietta and husband, Chad Marietta, Amanda McCracken; grandchildren, Alexa and Vance Marietta; mother, Ellen Jane McCarley; sister, Wanda Heiligman and her husband, John Heiligman. She is also survived by numerous other family members and loved ones.\r\n\r\nA celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Febrary 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at Grimes Chapel with Jim Heiligman and Martin Smith officiating. \r\n\r\n
