Lucille "Sue" Baldwin Brannen, 94, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 7, 2016. She was born in Kerrville, Texas on January 25, 1922 to Arb and Verdie Baldwin.\r\n \r\nShe and her late husband, Fred Brannen, co-founded Brannen's Inc. in 1947 after his return from World War II.\r\n \r\nSue was an accomplished artist better known for her cactus oil paintings. She read her bible every day and was a lifelong member of the Baptist church. She was an avid baseball fan and one of her fondest memories was when her grandchildren took her to a World Series game in Houston. Sue enjoyed many days at her cabin on the Guadalupe entertaining friends and family with her many stories.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Brannen and sister, Mae Clark. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Torn; son, Rusty Brannen (Janice); "adopted" sons, Richard Fite, Lloyd Clark and Joe Shortt; grandchildren, Sean Carney (Sara), Paul Carney (Jennifer), Cathleen Brannen, John Brannen, Becky Schneider (Scott), Seth Bradley, Jennifer Sander (Justin), Trey Brannen (Jennifer); and 8 great-grandchildren.\r\n \r\nA graveside service will be held at the Baldwin Cemetery in Hunt, Texas on Saturday, June 11, 2016 beginning at 11 AM, officiated by longtime friend, Robert Higle. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.\r\n \r\nSpecial thanks to Yvette Cantu and Linda Henderson for their compassionate care of our mother.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baldwin Cemetery Fund, PO Box 339, McDade, Texas 78650, or to a charity of your choice.\r\n
