Stewart Davis

Stewart Thorpe Davis passed unexpectedly in his home on Thursday April, 7 2016 at the age of 64. Stewart was born August 28, 1951 to Robert Lee Davis and Winifred Freeman Davis. \r\n \r\nHe grew up in the Houston area, spending many days at the beach where he loved to surf and terrorize his parents with his liberal politics. To set him straight, Stewart was sent to Schreiner Institute Military school, where he graduated High School. It was on the beautiful Schreiner Campus where he continued into his first two college years, that he met Heather Sutherland in a speech class Play. Enchanted by her, he joined the Schriener Institute Cheerleading Squad, in order to meet and impress her. His unconventional approach was successful, as they Cheered their way down the aisle on August 26, 1972. Stewart then attended Trinity University and received his Bachelor's in Accounting. An amazing husband and father, he raised 5 sons, and one spectacular daughter, as well as countless unofficially adopted friends and displaced youth. In his professional life, he was a passionate and driven businessman, starting Stewart Davis CPA in 1978, much to the shock of his then pregnant wife with two young sons on her knee. He was dauntless in achieving his dreams, and always helping others along the way. His loved ones will always remember the way he served his fellow men with so much love, without ever expecting anything in return. Whenever there was a problem to be tackled, everyone knew that they could count on him and place their burdens on his shoulders, and he would gladly carry the load. Stewart Davis was a passionate teacher, and loved nothing more than leading his Sunday School Class on Sundays and Institute on Wednesdays. A dog lover, he adopted a small pack that surrounded him every evening to enjoy the Big Bang Theory, his favorite show. In life he waged an epic war with a skunk who took up residence under the family home, and fought bravely to the end - sadly the skunk remains. His mortal enemy the Hopper from DISH TV also remains in the home. \r\n \r\nSurvived by his Wife Heather Davis, Sons Stewart Sutherland Davis (Wife Felicia Mae Davis) Corey Davis (Wife Heidi Ann Davis) Jared Davis (Cats Toby Lilly and Popcorn) Sky Davis (Dog Rocky) Jayce Davis (Possibly soon to be fiancé, if Stewart had his wish, Kiraka Marquel Kelly) and his fantastic daughter Lindsey Leigh Hawkes (Husband David Hawkes) and eight adorable grandkids: Madison, Carter, Carson, Kaelyn, Mackenzie, Dylan, Mason, and Kinley. \r\n \r\nStewart was terrorized in his later years by his son's liberal politics, and in lieu of flowers asks that everyone vote Republican and buy Blue Bell Ice Cream, as his loss of revenue will be quite a blow. \r\n \r\nStewart lived more in his 64 years than most people could cram into a hundred. Passionate and big hearted, he turned the dad joke into an art form. \r\n \r\nHis family and friends will be gathering to celebrate his life at a viewing at Grimes Funeral Chapels from 5-7 pm on Monday April 11, 2016 and a funeral service will be held Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 10am. Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery. \r\n
