On Thursday, May 24, 2018, Steven T. "Ace" Howard, loving husband, father and brother passed away at the age of 50. Steve was born November 22, 1967 to Walton and Carolyn (Horton) Howard of Uvalde, Texas. \r\n\r\nSumming Steve up in a few mere words has proven to be a difficult task. The following was written by his youngest sister, Audrey, and captures him better than anyone could. "True integrity, a man of determination, he held our family together with widespread generosity. When he was called he showed up; if he said he would, he did. That sort of honesty and dedication is too rare. Hilarious, curmudgeoned, earnest, goofy, trustworthy friend, big brother, husband, father and uncle, everyone's go to guy. He remembered your name and a story to boot. One of a kind, one in a million and one we will all miss way too much and shockingly gone way too soon." \r\n\r\nSteve is preceded in death by his father, Walton Howard, and his mother Carolyn Horton Howard. He is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Dana (Simons) Howard and daughter Kendra of Kerrville, his son Stephen Howard of Uvalde, Texas, son William Howard of Harlingen, Texas, and step-daughter Christie Horton of Uvalde, Texas and two grandchildren; and sisters, Vickie (Howard) Whitehead of Uvalde Texas, Gayle (Howard) Stone and husband Ronnie of Temple, Texas, Sharon (Howard) Lester and husband Bill of Jacksonville, Alabama, and sister Audrey Howard of San Antonio Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews. \r\n\r\nServices will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.\r\n
