SMSGT John E. Coy, USAF Ret., age 81 passed away in a private care facility in San Antonio, Texas Friday, January 4, 2019 following a series of health issues. John was born July 4, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Pauline D. Painter Coy and Robert J. Coy. \r\n\r\n He served God as a devout Catholic and served his country honorably for more than twenty-three years in the United States Air Force before retiring in 1978. He and Marian LeBlanc were united in marriage on May 25, 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. They were residents of Pipe Creek for many years and attended St. Victor's Chapel.\r\n\r\nJohn was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ginger; brothers Thomas, Dick and Ray; son Glenn Edward Coy in 1986; his wife of forty-nine years and mother of his children Marian in 2006; and daughter in law Deborah Sue Coy. \r\n\r\nSurvivors include daughter Lorraine M. Terry and husband Benton of Pipe Creek, Texas; sons Michael D. Coy and wife Barbara of San Antonio, Texas and Philip A. Coy of Pipe Creek, Texas; brothers Michael J. Coy and William J. Coy; grandchildren Leslie Reyes, Troy Reyes, Lauren Lyssy and Cheyanne Coy all of Pipe Creek, Texas; great grandchildren Ember Grace Brien, Jade B. Hoodenpyle and a third great grandchild expected in June; John's present wife Susan Coy and her family as well as many other dear extended family members and treasured friends.\r\n\r\nVisitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. with interment to follow at Pipe Creek Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
