Ysidro "Sid" Sandoval, 74 years old, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Seguin, Texas. He was born in Kerrville to Andreas and Sulema Sandoval on December 20, 1943. He married for the first time in California.\r\n \r\nYsidro achieved his GED in San Jose, CA and worked in California as a contractor and at G.E. Nuclear Division for 10 years.\r\n \r\nSid moved back to Kerrville in 1981 and was self employed. He married for the second time to Ada Fortner in Kerrville on July 18, 1981.\r\n \r\nHe served in the Army 1st Calvary, 2-12th Infantry from 1967-1969 in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with "V", Vietnam medal, and Rifle and handgun expert medal. \r\n \r\nHe competed several times with the City Council of Kerrville and was well involved with his neighborhood helping the elderly.\r\n \r\nSid is preceded in death by his father, Andreas Sandoval; grandmother; sisters, Josephine and Andrea; and an uncle, nephew and niece.\r\n \r\nSid is survived by his life long partner, Ada Sandoval; mother, Sulema Sandoval; children, Shem Sandoval, Sulema Chacon and Tawana "TJ" of Kerrville, Sid Jr. and Joseph of California; sisters, Eva Rivera, Marie, Sue and Rose; grandchildren, Mario Gonzales, Emeri Oudomsack, Trystyn and Jailin Chacon, Kingston Woodard and Nana Sandoval; as well as many nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nGraveside services with military honors will be held at 10 AM, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Guadalupe Cemetery officiated by Deacon Sonny Kaufhold.\r\n \r\nThe family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hacienda Oaks for all their care and help; to Kristy of Freedom Hospice; to Michelle Hall of Hacienda Oaks; and to all the staff that helped along the way - Thank you.
