Sherrie (Bama) Nix Rogers 56, died Saturday, December 28, 2019 at home in her bed just where she wanted to be. She graced the world with her presence on August 20th 1963. Born the pride and joy to the late Bruce and Jean Nix. \r\n\r\nBama was a kind hearted soul; a loving wife, momma, and friend who spoiled her babies and grandbabies without complaint. She was sweet and sassy. To know her was to love her.\r\n\r\nShe loved her people, she loved her bar, and she loved life. She was world renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it is. She always told the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. More often than not it was the school of hard knocks, so suck it up buttercup, she would say. Choose happy.\r\n\r\nWith that said she was genuine to a fault. The softest heart, yet sugar coated nothing. Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient in knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime. These words of encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes comfort, kept us in line. In the famous words of Bama "Has anyone told you... Jussssssst Kiddin!"\r\n\r\n She will be sorely missed and survived by her loving husband Craig Rogers; Children, Brandi Franks (Trey), Matthew Hamilton, Tonya Hamilton, Terra Hamilton, Devian Rogers(PJ), Darien Rogers, Tracey Rogers, Trenton Valentine, and Brittany Stubblefield(Gary), Mother in Love Shirley(mama)Rogers; One brother, Randy Nix (Donna) Brother-in-law Jimmy Rogers; Eight Grandbabies and special friends, Alana Smith, Delton and Sally Sturgis, and Gary Wright. All her bar patrons of Bandera/ Copeville Texas that knew and loved her.\r\n\r\nSpecial thanks to Peterson Hospice and Nurse Debbie\r\n\r\nA celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 12:00-6:00pm, at Boot and Saddle Saloon 702 TX-16, Bandera, Texas 78003.\r\n\r\nIn Lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Hondo Bank or Boot and Saddle saloon for a deck to be built in her honor.\r\n\r\n
