Santos L. Cervantez, Jr., 89, of Kerrville, TX passed away on March 4, 2015, in Kerrville, TX. He was born in Ozona, TX to Santos and Maria Cervantez on March 24,1925. He married Rosa Chipman on March 12, 1941 in Ozona. \r\n\r\nHe worked as a carpenter originally in Ozona and for Alonzo Starkey Jr. and Alonzo Starkey III in Kerrville for 15 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army. He was a Deacon at Oak Park Baptist Church in Kerrville. His greatest joy was family and participating in all Church activities. Santos helped design and construct two sanctuaries - Templo Bautista Jerusalem of Ozona and Oak Park Baptist Church. \r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his wife Rosa; his parents, Santos and Maria Cervantez; brothers, Catarino and Samuel Cervantez; sisters, Elisa Sanchez, Eloisa Noah, and Ofelia Lara all of Ozona; and great grandson, Tyler Forbes of Springfield, MA.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his daughters, Micaela Vitela of San Antonio, Gloria and husband John Pattenaude of Monson, MA, Linda and husband Orlando Valadez of San Angelo; son, Silverio and wife Pam Cervantez of Boerne; his brothers, Ezequiel, Leopoldo, and Francisco Cervantez of Ozona; sisters, Emma Rebelez, Teresa Sanchez and Senaida Martinez of Ozona; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nMemorial services will be at Oak Park Baptist Church, Kerrville, TX with Rev. Ezequiel Cervantez officiating.
