Sam Hutchison

Sam Hutchison was born on October 24, 1940 and passed away July 3, 2016. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Newton Hutchison and Bessie Roe Hutchison.\r\n \r\nSam was a man genuinely interested in every human being he encountered during his journey through life. When you met Sam, he wanted to know about you and what you thought about the world. You knew he cared about your thoughts as he would follow up with you on your next encounter.\r\n \r\nAfter serving in the United States Marines during Vietnam, Sam returned to Dallas where he spent most of his career in the athletic apparel and footwear business representing numerous national and international brands. During this career Sam met and married his wife of the last 36 years Cynthia (Hanks) Hutchison. Cynthia and Sam enjoyed countless trips enjoying the mountains of New Mexico. So it was no surprise when the couple decided to move to the Texas Hill Country in 1999. Sam moved to Kerrville to begin a new career in real estate. Cynthia soon followed and they built their dream house in the hills. Sam was truly happiest in the great outdoors of the Hill Country of Texas showing ranches to prospective buyers.\r\n \r\nSam was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Hutchison; and a sister, Patricia Harbour.\r\n \r\nSam is survived by his wife Cynthia, a son Samuel Roberts (Debra); two daughters, Robin Andrews and Michelle Renee Hutchison (Vann Scott); grandchildren, Aidan, Jamie, Samuel, Courtney, Dylan, and Bryson; and one great-granddaughter, Makenna.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas officiated by Rev. Chris Christopherson.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.\r\n
