On Monday, March 9, 2015 our earthy angel, Rose Ferguson, earned her heavenly wings at the sweet young age of 61. Rose was a beautiful Daughter, super awesome Sister, just a phone call away Mother, always ready to love her grandbabies Nana. She had a heart of gold and loved her family with every part of her. She will be truly missed.\r\n \r\nThe services to say good bye to the blessed angel will be Friday, March 13 at 10 am at Grimes Funeral Chapels with burial to follow at Center Point Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitation on Thursday, March 12 from 5-7 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nShe made her last travel from this earth to be by our Heavenly Father's side after a lengthy fight with COPD and emphysema and other health issues. All these health issues took up camp in Rose's body, but Rose was a fighter, she fought and stayed strong for all those years and she showed them, she was in control. Rose kept her head up high and was a true lady the whole time. She would tell you any story you would like to know. Anything about how she got sick, anything about her childhood in Louisiana with her 3 sisters and 3 brothers, the number of nieces and nephews, to raising her beautiful children and now her children having children and especially about her sweet sweet great grandbaby. She could talk to anyone, SHE NEVER MET A STRANGER!!!\r\n \r\nRose loved to travel. She has traveled to her favorite place, LAS VEGAS, time and time again. She traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, Maine, Florida, Cancun, Cozumel, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and of course, THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS. She loved to just drive and enjoy the view. As you can imagine, she saw LOTS of views. But the view she is enjoying now, is the BEST ONE YET! \r\n \r\nOnce she couldn't travel anymore, she began to garden. She planted flowers, gardens, vegetables, trees, just whatever would grow roots. She enjoyed being outside digging the rows, getting her hands in the dirt, planting the seeds and watching her hard work grow. And then the fruits of her labor blooms and she would have fruits, vegetables, flowers, and eggs. Yes I said eggs. She loved her chickens. She raised chickens, that would follow her around the yard like puppies do and she ALWAYS had too many eggs!!\r\n \r\nRose was preceded in death by her Father, Rossie A. Burlew. \r\n \r\nRose will continue to be loved by her surviving family members: Her loving Husband of 34 years-Franklin Ferguson of Kerrville, Mother-Ann Burlew of Center Point, Daughter-Jeri Skrumeda and husband John Skrumeda with their children; Mikayla, (and her fiancé Ryan Butler), J.C., and Makenzie Skrumeda all of Kerrville, and Daughter-Stephanie Newman and her daughter Preslee Newman with her daughter Ember Grause, all of Kerrville. Brother-Raymond Burlew and his wife Janis Burlew with their 2 children and 1 grandbaby all of Cheyenne, WY, Sister-Rita Griffith and her husband Rick Griffith and 3 sons all of Comfort, Sister-Debbie Burlew of Kerrville and her 2 children and 2 grandbabies, Brother-Bruce Burlew and wife Sunny Burlew and 3 children and 5 grandchildren of Center Point, Sister-Mary Burlew of Center Point, Brother-David Burlew and 1 son of Center Point. \r\n \r\nEven though she is gone from us, we all know she is in a much better place with a new body and a new set of lungs and is able to dance around heaven and walk and talk with her daddy once again. We all will be so excited to see her again in years to come because we know she is getting it ready for us. See you in heaven ROSE MARIE!! With all our love from us to you!!!\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
