Rose Browning

March 14, 1936 — January 19, 2018

Rose Marie Matter Browning left her earthly home on Friday, January 19, 2018 to go to her heavenly father at the age of 81 years old. She was born on March 14, 1936 in Comfort, Texas to Elmer and Vlasta Matter. Her family eventually relocated to Hunt, Texas, and she lived there through her graduation from Tivy High School in 1953. Rose Marie then attended business school in San Antonio. She went to work in Austin, Texas at the Office of Economic Opportunity. While living in Austin, she met her future husband, Aaron A. Browning who was serving in the United States Air Force. They were married and blessed with a daughter, Stacey Leigh Browning, and a son, Eric Nathan Browning. \r\n \r\nAaron's work travels took their family many places around the country from Austin, to Dallas, Charlotte, NC, Washington D.C., then to Memphis, TN and eventually to Houston. The move to Houston made her very happy as it got her back in Texas. Rose Marie became widowed during their time in Houston and made the decision to move her and her children back home to Kerrville. She then went to work at the VA Hospital there until her retirement. \r\n \r\nRose Marie was a loving, giving and supportive person to all she encountered and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Vlasta Matter, and her husband, Aaron A. Browning. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Browning Reinhart, son-in-law, Vincent Reinhart, and their two children, Jake and Nicole from Dripping Springs; her son, Eric Browning, her sister, Doris Turner, her Aunt, Lydia Pike all from Kerrville; her nephew, David Turner and his wife Kathy Turner of Hunt and her niece, Jean Bishop and her two children, Patrick and Clare of Bothell, WA; along with many cousins and dear friends.\r\n \r\nMemorial services for Rose Marie will be at 10 AM, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson, Kerrville, Texas. Interment will follow in the Hunt Japonica Cemetery.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, you may donate in Rose Marie's name to the Hill Country Youth Ranch or to Hospice. \r\n
