Rosalyn "Roz" Brown

March 5, 1933 — February 19, 2025

Rosalyn (Roz) Brown (91) of Bandera, TX passed away on February 19, 2025. She was born in Kennedy, TX and lived for many years in San Antonio, Houston, and Bandera. Roz built an impressive career in television, beginning in the 1950s at KENS (CBS) Channel 5 in San Antonio and retiring in the 1990s in Houston as Vice President of Programming for FOX TV. She was a woman ahead of her time as one of the first female executives in television. Upon retirement, Roz returned to Bandera where her mother’s family, the Smiths and Stevenses, were early settlers dating back to 1850. She was deeply committed to the Bandera community, serving as an active board member for the Bandera Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Boys & Girls Club of Bandera. Known for her warmth, generosity and hospitality, Roz cherished her many friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Roz is preceded in death by her parents Lewis Hunt & Aileen Stevens; sisters Maxine Hunt & Marlene Pape; husbands, Dallas Boyette and Pat Brown; and son, Jeff Boyette. She is survived by her son Michael Boyette and wife Therese Hartwell; daughter Toni Boyette and partner Tim Morris; grandchildren Katherine Boyette (Jason Reed), Melissa Legault (J.P.), Callie Boyette (Trevor Wulke), Kelly Boyette, Holly Boyette (Eric DeLeon), Rachel Johnson and Dallas Dodd; great grandchildren, Laurel Reed, Jocelyne and Nolan Legault, Nathan, Liam and Chloe Wulke, Kaiden Massiatte, Monroe and Sofia DeLeon and Madison McKenzie.

Memorial services will be held at Bandera Funeral Chapel, April 12th, 2:00pm, followed by interment at Bandera Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bandera Kronkosky Public Library, P.O Box 1568, Bandera Texas 78003 or The Boys & Girls Club of Bandera.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
