On Friday, April 13, 2018, Ronnie Lee (Ron) Compton went home to be with his Lord. He was born May 30, 1948 in Kerrville, TX. He lived his almost 70 years to the fullest enjoying his family and friends.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his father, Winfred Douglas Compton; his mother, Ruby Mae Hodges Compton; and his brother, Robert Earnest (Bobby) Compton.\r\n\r\nHe is succeeded by his wife, Sylvia White Compton; brother, Douglas Wayne Compton Sr. (and wife Katherine Springall Compton); half-sister, Pamela Compton Guzardo (and husband Brett Guzardo); half-brother, Sherman Winn Compton (and wife Marla Cahela Compton); sons, Michael Edward Compton (and wife Holly Bailey Compton), Jeffrey Blain Compton (and wife Alisa Sandell Compton), Brian Scott Compton (and wife Courtney Gann Compton), Bradley Richard Compton (and wife Jessica Jordan Compton); step-son, Craig David Edwards (and wife Amy Gartman Edwards); 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many, many ‘best' friends.\r\n\r\nRon started working at age 13 rewinding electric motors for his father and continued working for his father in his A/C and electrical business, Compton's of Kerrville. He then worked as a Building Inspector for the City of Kerrville, a Multi-disciplined Inspector for the City of Houston, a Construction Inspector for the Port of Houston Authority, and as a Master Electrician for Powerline Solutions, Inc.\r\n\r\nHe also founded and owned several businesses. He owned his own A/C and electrical business. He was a homebuilder and later he owned an underground utilities business.\r\n\r\nRon truly believed in the saying "I'd rather burn out than rust out." He umpired baseball and refereed football for many schools in the Kerrville area. He even became a private pilot. But most importantly, he could always be counted on to help a friend or neighbor.\r\n\r\nHis life will be celebrated at two Memorial Services and we invite all to attend: \r\n\r\nThe first service is set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Clear Lake Church of the Nazarene, 14310 Galveston Road- Hwy 3, Webster, TX 77598.\r\n\r\nThe second service is set for 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.
