Rogelio Galvan

Rogelio G. Galvan, age 82, of Kerrville, entered into eternal peace on Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born on October 9, 1934 in Laredo, TX, son of the late Carlos and Daria Gonzales Galvan. On November 14, 1954, he married the love of his life, Maria Cuellar in Laredo. He was a devoted and loving husband who treasured every day of his 62 year marriage to her. He was a caring, kind, and generous man who was sought out by many for his wisdom and guidance, especially as a father to his children and grandchildren whom he adored. His wonderful sense of humor and enthusiasm will be truly missed by all who knew him. He leaves them all with many, many cherished memories.\r\n \r\nMr. Galvan worked as a DJ at WBAT in Marion, IN for 5 years for public service and loved Tejano music. He worked and retired from General Motors in Indiana before moving to Kerrville. Here he was a faithful parishioner at Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid volunteer. Mr. Galvan was a strong man of faith, always placing his trust in God. \r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Maria Galvan of Kerrville; 4 daughters, Sandra Eads and husband Arnold of Jonesboro, Indiana, Rosa G. Perez and husband Jesus of Edmond, Oklahoma, Norma G. Havran and husband Michael of Kerrville, and Lisa Martinez and husband Douglas of Kerrville; 3 sons, Rogelio Galvan Jr., and wife Olga of Gas City, Indiana, Alberto Luis Galvan and wife Ana of San Antonio, TX and David Joseph Galvan of Tulsa, OK; 4 sisters, Eva Sanchez, Guadalupe Morales, Oralia Morales and Andrea Guerra; 2 brothers, Jose M. Galvan, and Francisco Galvan; 24 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren (with 2 on the way), and 1 great-great-grandchild. \r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his daughter, Juanita Galvan; his brother, Carlos Galvan, Jr.; and great-great grandbaby, Marion.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be held 4-6 PM, followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Notre Dame Catholic Church.\r\n
