Robert Eugene Tyler, 74, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 in his home in Kerrville, TX. Born September 3, 1943 to Charles and Teen Tyler, he grew up in Sabinal, TX where he roamed the countryside, hunting and fishing, learning survival skills from his Uncle Dean.\r\n \r\nHe held a state record in high school football for punting which resulted in a football scholarship to Baylor University. He later transferred to Sam Houston State University where he received a Bachelor's of Business Administration and met Doris Owen. They were married July 17, 1965.\r\n \r\nHe was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army. He was selected to be in the Old Guard in Arlington Cemetery and received The Bronze Star Medal for heroism in battle.\r\n \r\nHe then received his Master's of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from Sam Houston State. He worked at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell; Tyler, Willingham & Tuffly; and Moore, Tyler & Co. as a CPA.\r\n \r\nBob had a lifelong love of fishing and hunting - enjoying many boats and hunting leases. He was a risk-taker who tried many things - some with much success.\r\n \r\nAfter living in Friendswood, TX for 25 years, he and Doris retired to Kerrville in 2008 to build their dream home on the banks of Turtle Creek.\r\n \r\nBob is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters, Tracy Tyler and Kristen Tyler; grandson, Jackson Waller; brother, Chuck Tyler and family; sisters-in-law, Joyce Owen and Jan Pool; best friends, Roger Gibson, Ralph Burda, and Jerry Moore; and his loyal dog, Tootsie.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at the family home at a later date. \r\n \r\nIn memory of Bob, please consider a donation to Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter in Kerrville via www.freemanfritts.com.\r\n
