Robert Hopper, Jr.

Robert W. (Bob) Hopper, Jr., age 75 of Fredericksburg, TX passed away on March 11, 2016 in Kerrville. He was born in San Antonio, TX to Robert and Ruth Hopper on May 7, 1940. He married Mary E. Elliott on July 11, 1964 in Colorado Springs, CO.\r\n He graduated from Jefferson High School and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years. He also worked for Ford Aerospace and the transportation department at Northside ISD. He was very involved in Ham Radio and enjoyed working on cars and audio equipment. He also enjoyed RV camping. He was fanatical about washing his vehicles and could be counted on to be the first in line of any given potluck.\r\n Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ruth Hopper.\r\n Bob is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Susan and Merry Viau; son Robbie & Fumie Hopper; brother , Jim and Kathy Hopper; and grandson, Jonah Hopper.\r\n He will be interred at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, March 18, 2016.\r\n Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 2 at the Liveoaks Clubhouse in Fredericksburg with Don Joseph officiating. The family is asking guests to wear red to honor his favorite color.\r\n Memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice of Kerrville. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the Emergency Room and ICU staff at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg and Gentiva Hospice.\r\n
