In loving memory of Robert Benton Belmont, Jr. who died peacefully at Brookdale Plaza City View in Ft. Worth, TX on Dec 3rd, 2015, at the age of 93.\r\n\r\nMr. Belmont is survived by his five children, Sheila Wolf, Robert Belmont III, Bridget Belmont, Brian Belmont, and Mary Claire Belmont.\r\n\r\nMr. Belmont was born on the 31st of October, 1922 in Los Angeles, CA to Robert Benton Belmont, Sr. and Udonna Corrin (Boone) Belmont. He graduated from Carbon High School in 1938. After beginning college at SMU he began working as a draftsman in Dallas. \r\n\r\nIn 1943, Mr. Belmont joined the U.S. Navy and became an Electricians Mate aboard the submarine USS Kraken. While a crewmember, the Kraken made 4 war patrols in the Pacific. During its last patrol, the Kraken remained submerged while under attack by Japanese depth charges. When the Kraken returned to the surface, radio signals were received that the war was over. He received the Submarine Combat Pin (3 Stars), as well as the Philippine Liberation Medal , Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, American Theater Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.\r\n\r\nHe married Mary Ellen Kennedy in 1946. They raised their family in Arlington, TX. He retired from General Motors in 1977.
