Richard D. Wilson, 76, of Killeen passed away on June 13th, 2015 in Kerrville. He was born February 16th, 1939 and adopted by James and Fie Wilson in New Orleans, Louisiana. He married Bess Looper on July 1, 1961 in Beaumont, Texas. \r\n \r\nHe graduated from South Park High School and received his undergraduate degree from Lamar University, his Master's degree from Stephen F. Austin University and his Doctorate degree from Nova University. He was a college administrator for Central Texas College for 17 years, Marin County College and Mary Hardin Baylor College. He retired as Vice President of First National Bank of Killeen in 1998. He later went into partnership with his son, Keith and owned Sun Meadows Tennis and Swim Club and Wilson Outdoor Advertising. \r\n \r\nHe was involved in numerous civic organizations - Killeen Independent School District School board member, Director of Killeen Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Killeen Exchange Club, Board President of Oakridge Country Club, Board Director of the United Way, Board Chairman of Central Counties Center MH/MR, Board Director of Bell County Youth Services Bureau, Secretary of Killeen-Heights Rotary Club, Vice President of Central Texas Museum, Director of Leon Balley Boy Scouts, and Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist of Killeen. \r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Bess Wilson; his daughter, Anne Lyn Overby and her husband Kerwin, and his son, Richard Keith Wilson and his wife Andrea, all of Kerrville; his sister-in-law, Shirley Hartman and her husband Tom of Anchorage; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Overby of Bryan/College Station, Zachary Overby at UT, and Austin and Brooke Wilson of Kerrville; and his niece and two nephews and their families in Alaska.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, June 17th at First United Methodist Church in Kerrville with Donna Magee officiating.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church memorial fund. \r\n \r\nThe family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his caretakers at Brookdale Nursing Home, Gentiva Hospice and Miguel Mathieu. \r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
