Rex Jewel Cox, 75, of Bandera, Texas passed peacefully on March 29th at home with his family by his side. He was born in Haskell, Texas to Leslie and Minnie Cox on November 29, 1939. He married Rosalie Hauser on June 15, 2002 at Polly's Chapel in Bandera.\r\n\r\nHe graduated from Noodle High School and attended Hardin Simmons University. He retired to Bandera after a lifelong career with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company as a Military Accounts Manager. He retired from the US Army with a rank of E8, Senior Master Sargent. Rex served as County Commissioner of Precinct 1 in Bandera County.\r\n \r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents', Leslie and Minnie Cox: four brothers, R.L., Charlie, Jim and Jack and one sister, Caroline: nephew Ricky and a niece, Susan.\r\n\r\nRex is survived by his wife, Rosalie: daughter Teri Brown and husband Kirk of Abilene: son Michael Cox and wife Tena of Highland Village and daughter Carla Mikle and husband Steven of Houston and sister Wilma Saunders of Tennessee: 4 grandchildren Jessica Bradley, Joey Parnell, Zachary Brown and Colynn Mikle: a great grandson Carter Bradley: sister in law Eunice Larned and Frances Cox as well as many cherished nephews and nieces. Rex is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Greg Hauser and wife, Linda and Tony Hauser.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, April 4th at 2:00PM at Shepherds Gate Community Church with Pastor Bob Devora officiating. A celebration of his life will be held at Rex's home, 1689 Forest Trail following the service. Friends and family are welcome. Burial will be at Fort Sam National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, May 1, 2015 with full military honors.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause near and dear to his heart. \r\n\r\nRex's family would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the lovely women at US Renal Dialysis Center for the kindness you showed and the care you provided.
