Rebecca Jean Ashcraft, (Mrs. A ) 93 of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Kerrville.\r\n \r\nShe was born in Mayhew, Mississippi to Ralph and Susie Anderson on October 27, 1924. She married Dick Ashcraft on July 27, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama.\r\n \r\nShe and her husband Dick Ashcraft were owners/administrators of Northhaven Care Center in Kerrville for 20 years. She and her husband were totally dedicated to caring for their residents. \r\n \r\nShe was a member of First United Methodist Church, Kerrville and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the 21st Century Class for 25 years. Jean enjoyed gardening and baking. She was also dedicated to helping others. \r\n \r\nMrs. Ashcraft was preceded in death by her husband, Dick (Elisha Young) Ashcraft; sisters, Carey Anderson Braswell and Anne Anderson Conway; as well as brothers, Jack Anderson, Billy Anderson, Robert Anderson and Ralph Anderson.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by two daughters, Judith Thibaut Stewart and Dianne Dower, and their husbands, Tim Stewart and Jim Dower. She also is survived by two grandchildren, Betsy Thibaut Stephenson and her husband Charles Stephenson and Tricia Thibaut; great-grandchildren, Grace, Abby and Charlie Stephenson; as well as nieces and nephews, Carey Sue Braswell Calhoun, Becky Braswell Busby, Pamela Anderson Ballard, Renea Anderson Mulkin, Pat Anderson Wolfe, Martha Anderson; and sister-in-law, Dot Anderson. \r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held in Kerrville on Saturday, February 17th at 10AM at First United Methodist Church. There will be a reception following. Pastor David Payne will officiate. \r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Dr., Kerrville, Texas, 78028.\r\n \r\nThe family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Peterson Hospice and the entire staff of Hilltop Village in Kerrville. \r\n
