Ray Jackson Winn, 85, of Bandera, passed away on December 28, 2015 in San Antonio. He was born in Lubbock, Texas, to Francis and Gould Winn on May 9, 1930. He married Margaret Winn on March 20, 2001 in Bandera. \r\n\r\nCaptain Winn had a distinguished military career of twenty-three years, serving in first the Marines and then the Air Force. He was a proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was awarded the Purple Heart and twelve Air Medals in addition to numerous awards and decorations. He was an active member of Gypsy MC International for many years. \r\n\r\nRay is preceded in death by wife Elsie Florence Winn, and his brother Max Winn. \r\n\r\nRay is survived by wife Margaret Winn and her children John Neubauer, Christine Neubauer, and Lisa Longridge, his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Beverly Aldridge, and their children Kimberly Aldridge, Becky Aldridge, Jon Frazier, and Jimmy Dale Aldridge, Jr.; along with numerous other relatives and friends. \r\n\r\nVisitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera with Pastor Rick Pfaff of Messiah Lutheran Church, Boerne, officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016. \r\n\r\nThe family of Ray Jackson Winn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Methodist Hospital Emergency and Hospital personnel who cared for Ray preceding his death.\r\n
