Raul Rodriguez Arreola was called to his heavenly home by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 28, 2019. He was born on May 4, 1926, to Corina Rodriguez Arreola and George Silvas Arreola. \r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, brother George R. Arreola, and sister Elva Pickens. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene E. Arreola, children Linda Collazo, Dianne Valencia, Robert Espinoza, Deborah A. Giron (Edward), and Paul D. Arreola (Linda); grandchildren Detra Reynolds (Shannon), Damon Collazo, Rebekah Arredondo, Joshua Arreola, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson. \r\n\r\nRaul was a lifelong resident of Kerrville and retired after 31 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service, the last 10 years of which he served as Postmaster of Hunt, TX. He served for 6 years on the Kerrville City Council, as well as Mayor Pro tem for a year. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years. In retirement he devoted much of his time to volunteering at the church and as a member of the Gideons, where he was active in bible distribution throughout the hill country. \r\n\r\nA celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances may be made to the Hill Country Gideon's Camp, P.O. Box 293434, Kerrville, TX 78029\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
