Ralph S. Ayala, age 91, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on October 2, 2015 in Austin, Texas. Ralph was born in San Antonio, Texas to Ralph Ayala, Sr., and Maria Sepulveda Ayala, on December 8, 1923. Ralph married Victoria Cervantes on July 23, 1949 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n\r\nRalph attended school in San Antonio, Texas and at the Sawyer School at the YO Ranch. He grew up working as a ranch hand at the YO until he joined the service in 1943. Ralph was a Pfc in the U.S. Army serving in the EAME Campaign....European Theatre during WWII. Ralph worked at the V. A. Hospital in Kerrville until his retirement. Ralph touched many lives with his wonderful sense of humor, he enjoyed playing golf with his friends, and he loved fishing with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ralph loved to sing while his wife played the guitar or piano, and as a member of Calvary Baptist Church, he would frequently lead the congregation singing hymns.\r\n\r\nRalph is preceded in death by his wife, Victoria who passed away in 2007. \r\n\r\nRalph is survived by his daughter Sylvia Pittman (Edward), sons Carlos Ayala (Adelle), Dan Ayala (Luz), and Gerard Gomez; 10 grandchildren Michael, Natalie, Andrea, Kristopher, Daniel, David, Edgar, Luz, Carole, and Jennifer; and 8 great-grandchildren. \r\n\r\nVisitation will be Friday, October 9th, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 10th, at 10:00 AM at Garden of Memories, Kerrville.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram, Texas. The family would like to thank Seton Hospital staff in Austin, Texas, and Park Bend Rehab Center in Austin for the wonderful care given to Ralph. Thank you to friends, our loving family in France, Joel Ayala, Sr., Dr. Sylvestre Ayala, wonderful sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and Calvary Baptist Church.
