On Friday, February 24, 2017, my heavenly Father was looking down at my beloved, took His loving hand to take him home; for He says, "Where I am, you will be also." Only His loving hand could separate us. SoLa Mente La Mano De Dios Podra Separanos.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife of 57 years and 9 months, Janie Chacon Moreno. God gave us two loving children, Diane Moreno Rodriguez and Chris Chacon Moreno; two adorable grandchildren, Christopher Chacon Moreno Jr. and Ana Alicia Cortez and Welo's beloved great granddaughter, Mila Elise Moreno. This is the fruit of our love. He also leaves behind to love and cherish his memories, his sisters, Sarah Gonzales, Rachel and spouse, Vicente Arriola of Kerrville; six step-sisters and five brothers from Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. He raised 4 nephews, Jon Pilar Moreno (who will carry his name), Steve "Diego" Chacon, and Henry "Cheme" Chacon (who received him in Heaven), and Alex "Hando" Sanchez and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nPilar was born in Harper, Texas on January 9, 1939 to Manuela and Jose Moreno, who also received him in Heaven. \r\n \r\nHe worked for the Kerrville Independent School District until he retired in 2008. He always made sure that even the door knobs were shining. He was loved and respected by all.\r\n \r\nAfter retirement, he picked up lawncare and he made sure the yards at River Hill and Hummingbird were left at his friend's and owner's satisfaction. He worked until his fragile body could no longer do it.\r\n \r\nA Prayer service will be held at 6 PM, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Calvary Temple Church officiated by Pastor Del Way and Pastor Santos Ortiz. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.\r\n \r\nWe would like to thank the caring team from the ER and ICU for their professional, loving care to my husband and family. May God Bless you all - Mrs. Janie.\r\n
