Phyllis N. Spencer, 90 of Kerrville, passed away May 10, 2019 at Brookdale Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born July 9, 1928, to Duane and Iretta (Harrison) Neifert in Salina, Kansas. \r\n\r\nShe married her high school sweetheart, Albert O. (Jack) Spencer Jr. on June 6, 1948.\r\n\r\nPhyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Albert O. (Jack) Spencer Jr. and her parents, Duane and Iretta Neifert.\r\n\r\nPhyllis was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. During her married life, she lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, Tennessee, and Michigan where she was surrounded by many wonderful friends. She developed and maintained many of these friendships throughout her life. In 1987, she and Jack retired to Kerrville where Phyllis was able to spend time with her family, volunteer at the Cottage Shop, and volunteer with Peterson Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years.\r\n\r\nPhyllis is survived by her brother, Jim Neifert (Sita) of Reston, Virginia; children: Nancy Cullum of Leander and Janet Patton (David) of Barksdale; grandchildren: Jason Morley (Kristine) of Magnolia, Justin Morley (Kimber) of New Braunfels, Stacy Patton (Rod Anderson) of Austin, Sara Kureska (Kirk) of Boerne, Kelcy Kalytka (Gordon) of Leander, Spencer Cullum of Oregon, and Robert Patton (Beverly White) of Burleson; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 nieces/nephews.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:30AM, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with Father Bert and Father Mike officiating.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
