Pearl Smithwick

June 11, 1918 — February 19, 2015

Pearl Carroll Smithwick, 96, joined her husband of 49 years, Henry Bransford "Tex" Smithwick in Heaven on Thursday, February 19, 2015. She was born in Oakdale, Louisiana to Linnie Gertrude Meyers & James Luther Carroll on June 11, 1918.\r\n\r\nPearl lived a very full and independent life. A dedicated Christian woman she cherished spending time with her loved ones and friends - enjoying nature, watching birds, playing cards and other games. Her 96 years cannot be condensed to a few paragraphs. She saw more in her lifetime than most could ever imagine: the great depression, women's liberation, space exploration, even the proliferation of automobiles. Her greatest accomplishments would be her family; a testament to that would be how she died, surrounded in love with them by her side.\r\n\r\nShe is preceded in death by her sister Ruby Martin, and brother Carl Carroll.\r\n\r\nPearl is survived by her children: Cynthia Stueber & husband Ron, Paula Borden & husband Joe. Grandchildren: David Arnold Stueber, Daniel Carroll Stueber & wife Lainie, Karen Diane Griego & husband Ron, Candice Emily Norman & husband Chris, Joel Christian Borden & wife Nikitta, Rebecca Anne Nelson & husband Jason. Great grandchildren: Alexandria Blu & Haley Cynthia Stueber, Andrew Ronald & Hayden Edward Glover, Ethan Henry & Sophia Camille Norman, Christian DeWayne Borden, Ruby Anne, Cylee Pearl & Samuel Joseph Nelson.\r\n\r\nA private family service will be held at a later date.\r\n\r\nPearl's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the compassionate and loving nurses and staff at River City Hospice in Bandera. They were a Godsend during such a difficult time.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
