Paul James Isham, age 84 of Ingram, Texas, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Alpine Terrace Nursing Home in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nHe was born July 11, 1933 in Gravette, Arkansas to Jay and Hazel Isham.\r\n \r\nHe went to school in Grandview, Missouri. Following graduation from high school he enlisted in the Navy and served from 1952 until 1956. His sea duty was on the Yorktown during the Korean War. Soon after discharge from the Navy, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserves where he trained as a flight engineer and instructor for 8 years on the C-124 during the Viet Nam War. His final employment was with the Department of Defense as a Logistician for the Army's Cobra helicopter. When he retired he bought a 43 acre farm in Stover, Missouri. He built up a herd of Herford cows and bailed his own hay. He was active in the Lion's Club and various town activities there. Paul was a member of the Methodist Church in Stover, MO when he transferred his membership to the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville.\r\n \r\nPaul was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Isham; his parents, Jay and Hazel Isham; and sister, Wanda Gathercole.\r\n \r\nPaul is survived by his wife, Joan Isham of the home; sons, Michael Isham (Patricia) of O'Fallon, MO, and Kevin Isham of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Vicky Roberts of St. Peters, MO; brothers, Donald Isham (Connie) of Leawood, KS and Ray Isham (Nancy) of Wentzville, MO; five grandchildren, Christy, Mandy, Zachery, Christopher, and Scott; and 5 great-grandchildren.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held at 5 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Kerrville First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Donna Magee. Burial will take place in Stover, Missouri.\r\n
